The Xerox B210 is an entry level monochrome laser printer that will output your documents at a good rate and in high quality. This model is print only, it has no scanning or copying functions built in, making it the perfect affordable solution for a simple and reliable home office where all you need is the ability to make hard copies of documents and emails.
The first thing to note about the Xerox B210 is the compact size. As it does not come with scanning and copying functions it is more compact that the typical all-in-one solution. At just 368 x 335 x 213 mm and weighing 7.5kg it’s perfect for a compact home office.
There is no fancy control panel built in here, but as a no frills printer only model this is as expected. If you do need additional configuration option or want to monitor the state of the printer, this can all be done through the online interface you can access through your computer.
You can load a very respectable 250 sheets in the paper tray, and for custom paper sizes you can feed in via the one sheet override tray, allowing you to print on envelopes for example. Xerox recommend the printer is good for around 4,000 pages per month which should be plenty for home use.
Xerox claim that this model can output up to 30 pages per minute, which is fast for a model in this price bracket. Real world tests show that this stat holds up well making this printer a good affordable choice for anyone who wants to get their documents out in good time. Note that the rate is slower when printing to both sides.
Speed is no good if the print quality if illegible, but fortunately the Xerox does well in this regard too. Small text comes out clear, Excel charts are reproduced with no banding or streaking and greyscale photos show great levels of detail and clarity.
The cost per print is relatively inexpensive when compared to its peers. But note that some of the bulk ink solutions now available for inkjet printers can work out cheaper over the long term.
